The relationship between a grandparent and a grandchild is SO beautiful.

Something I’ve always said growing up is, “I can’t wait to be a grandparent.” As much as I cannot wait to be a mother, there’s something about being a grandparent that means so much to me.

As a child, I always saw my grandparents as ‘Ancient’. Yes, I’m aware of now that they probably did not appreciate me calling them WAY older than they were, but I bet they thought it was adorable. To this day, I look at them and see so many years of life that they’ve lived and overcome. I hear story’s that blow my mind, and I see a love that has conquered so much. I look at my Grandma and Grandpa and am so thankful to have them as an example. Their story is so much more to me (their grandchild) than they think.

Being raised by my grandparents, I saw that leaving them behind for 6 months and “living without them” was going to be an accomplishment. But that was stupid of me to think. How thankful I am that I got to have my grandparents raise me for 19 years of my life. And when I get back I will continue to allow them to “raise” me because I know it’s something they love doing. They love loving me and watching me grow. They love providing for me and seeing me provide for myself. They love cheering for me and watching me accomplish things. They love seeing me fail and being a shoulder to cry on. They lover to see me as a precious child that doesn’t do anything wrong. So, I will continue to receive their love, because it’s something I will forever cherish.

Just like the Lord. Our Heavenly Father. All he wants is for us to let Him love us like our grandparents love us. He see’s us even more precious which doesn’t seem possible, BUT TO HIM IT IS! Let Him Love you! Let Him provide for you in ways you never thought you’d be able to be provided for. Let Him pour his love into your life. Run to Him as he runs to you. Choose him as He chooses you. Accept the forgiveness, and let Him pick you up when you fail.

As much as I am missing my grandparents in Oregon, the Lord has been providing me with other examples of grandparents who are either raising their grandchildren or helping their children raise their kids.

Below is a picture of Raul and 2 of his MANY grandchildren. Raul and his wife are helping their 25 year old daughter raise her 7 beautiful children. The beauty he see’s in them is breath taking. I asked him if he loves raising them, and he said he wouldn’t change it.

Thank you God, for providing us with a Love that is so strong.
